In all three of these pictures, the utter brightness (luminosity?) of the chair makes for a strange background to Chuck. Here, it almost looks like Chuck has been Photoshopped on top of the chair. Ditto for a spot in the third (reclined) image. |

Laura: I had mixed feelings about the arm, too. I eventually made peace with it though, because most of the face is rather neatly (albeit accidentally) obscured. I think that the resulting anonymity is OK. I did crop some (the top of the hand is outside the original fram but the lowest foot of the chair is not. . . and the negative is 35mm, not square). |
