[ 1 ] laura:
I'm with you on the composition; dig it. |
[ 2 ] mwirth:
I really like how this upper arm area gets so white that it flattens out, even though we know it's a 3-D form. The way that contrasts with the rich detail in the background. |
[ 3 ] sprice:
There's a funny light line running diagonally up-right here. Is that a camera artifact, or the edge of the holy umbra that Chuck carries around, or ... ? |
[ 4 ] sprice:
There's *no* shadow here behind Chuck because of the brightness of the chair. It's a little creepy-- see similar comment to the first (drinking) image. |
mwirth:
I like this one the best of the three, composition-wise and generally. I like the reflections in the sunglasses, too. But Chuck, what did we tell you about the beard? |
cgroom:
What did you guys tell me? That it makes me look hot hot hot? That it cleverly masks the butt chin... er, super-hero chin? You probably told me, but it was probably during new year's and well all know how, uh, present I was then. |
mwirth:
I think the consensus was, no beard = good. Or maybe that was just my opinion. |
laura:
Hell no. Beard=good. Beards=good. Some days I want one. Penis envy my ass. I mean, my foot. |
mwirth:
Beards are relative. Laura, while you may look wonderful in a beard, I personally believe that Chuck generally looks better sans facial hair. Others, it's different. Obviously Wayne must have his beard (unless it's Easter.) Josh looks 17 without his beard, which could be good or bad- you be the judge. |
alecia:
You're totally right in that beards are completely dependent on the person and their look of the moment (my dad shaved his when I was 8, and I refused to talk to him for 2 days, but now I think he looks so much better without it). In Chuck's case, I really, really like the beard, and I was happy when he decided that wanted it back. Chuck, beard=good. In my opinion. Aren't you happy to know that so many people have opinions about your facial hair? |
samira:
I like Chuck's beard. To me, even though I knew him before the beard, and have seen him without it since, it is how he is supposed to look. Now, Chuck goatee+not so good.
As for Rat's thoughts on Josh, Josh+beard=good, Josh+clean shaven+good. Josh+2 day old stubble=someone who under grads might not take seriously as an authority figure. |
sprice:
Composition-wise, Chris, I'm not sure why I'd like Chuck to be a hair closer to the center. I think that it feels right now like he's that requisite off-center, but not for any particular reason or to highlight anything in particular other than that the subject isn't supposed to be centered. |
