I look at you

flawless

surrounded by the Gordian knot

of people who say they admire you

those who follow you tirelessly

anywhere

I look at her

oblivious

no makeup hiding her plentiful blemishes

the only one wearing bright orange

alone but smiling

I sit by her

and accept your taunts

not in pity

for she is happy alone

but in admiration

for she has to be pretty brave

to oppose you.
