You're a tall 8 1/2 year old, girl! Anyway, this is both cute and cool--an interesting way of presenting stuff. Text and graphics, oh yes it is good. |

This made me smile. A lot.
From a graphics design perspective, it's very cool to combine the feel of a fast email with deliberate layout and a simple graphic. |

How did you make the pompoms? |
|
tasha:
Cut two C's out of cardboard (basically, use a compass to make a perfect 'o', then cut a 1/4in wide slit into it). Wrap a buttload of yarn around the two C's together (the bigger pompoms each have 6yds). Cut the yarn between the two disks, along the outer edge. Slide a piece of string between your two cardboard layers, and tie off very tightly. Pop out yer pom, and trim as much as you like. I can draw up a diagram and send it to ya, if you think that would help. |

Thanks, Tasha! This was fun, and like Chuck, I like the layout-- text, pictures, regardless of the way that the web generally forces you to do one or the other. I'm in an "amateur publishing association" (or something) where folks publish personal 'zines in a monthly compilation, and in my 'zine I've been trying to layout my text very visually, somewhat informatively and somewhat whimsically. Like this! |

Tasha,
sorry it has taken me so long to get bacy to you. Yes, I think a diagram would be most helpful. Should I send you my snail mail address? Or will you just post it here? |

Here we go. I just found an online source. Basically do as they say, but when you make your cardboard circles, cut a little strip out of each one (to make the "letter C" I mentioned). That way, you won't have to thread a needle and take hours to make each pompom - you can wrap the cardboard right from the skein. Hope this helps. how-to |
