Steps: In large bowl, combine all ingredients for crust. Blend well with mixer (or, if you're poor and living in a small apartment in Berkeley, two forks will suffice) to form crumbs. Press half this conglomeration into the bottom of an ungreased 11x7 inch pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate and pecans. Blend the carmel and flour and spread it over the chocolate and pecans which are, at this point, sprinkled on top of the butter-flour-oatmeal mixture. THEN sprinkle all this with the remaining crust mixture. Bake 15 or 20 minutes until the top is golden browon. Chill 1 or 2 hours, vigorously guarding against the onslaught of the hoards. Cut. |
